Lion’s Head

The mountain called “The Lion” is as much a feature of Cape Town as is Table Mountain.
Although only 669 metres (2,195 ft.) in height Lion’s Head provides a wonderful walk, with plenty of scrambling (and optional chain-assisted climbing) and spectacular 360 degree views. When Table Mountain Cableway is closed for maintenance or as a result of adverse weather conditions, Lion’s Head is a reliable alternative.
Difficulty: This is an easy walk and scramble with steep sections.

The temperature at the top of the mountain is lower than the temperature at the start.
