An endemic flower in The Mountains In The Sea
With all the activity around our new “Sex and Slaves in The City” Cape Town Walks you might have forgotten that we operate nature walks along the Cape Peninsula Mountains. Last week Tom Ford from California joined us on our spectacular Mountains In The Sea Trek. In this picture he looks rather pleased with himself – even though he is between a rock and a hard place.
We saw this magnificent Gladiolus bonaespei along the route. The intense colour of this flower gives it the common name of “Flames”, and
the Cape Peninsula is the only place in the world where it is found.
We were blessed with perfect weather for our walk along the coast to Cape Point. The sea was wild, we saw Klipspringers, Baboons, Ostrich and a big herd of Eland. It was an altogether special day.
