Cape Town Weather

Cape Town weather is renowned for its unpredictability and variability. Yesterday was sunny and windless. Today the mountain was beautiful, with aperfect table-cloth draped over the table. With a group from Prima Travel (www.primatravel.com) we ascended right into the cloud. The views were not great but the ambience was good and the flowers were wonderful. Getting into our stride

BLOOD ROOT

They go by a whole array of common names: Butterfly Lily, Red Root, Spider Flower, Coffee Bean . . . but whatever you call them, the flowers of Wachendorfia paniculata are delightful. ROCK KESTRELS ON TABLE MOUNTAIN

Last week when I was walking on Table Mountain I came across this beautiful Rock Kestrel. He allowed me to approach so close that I suspected he could not fly. However when some other walkers approached he flew-off quite capably. These small raptors are fairly common around Table Mountain, where they feed on insects, lizards and small rodents. HONEYMOON ON THE MOUNTAIN

John & Katy, from Los Angeles chose South Africa for their honeymoon. They also decided to conquer Table Mountain while on Honeymoon. I think that they had a great idea.
